About the Role

other product designers on all areas of user experience, research, prototyping, interaction design, and visual design. We care about the details, empathize deeply, and are comfortable with ambiguity. We’re fluent in the design thinking processes necessary to identify the problem, craft solutions, and build paradigm-shifting products for the organizations who use our products.

 

As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll drive the vision and execution of intuitive, visually compelling, and scalable experiences across our products. You’ll take ownership of complex design challenges, leading initiatives from discovery to high-fidelity execution while balancing user needs and business goals. Collaborating closely with product managers, engineers, and other designers, you’ll shape strategy, advocate for user-centered design, and push for innovation. 

 

This role requires someone who is proactive, strategic, and deeply invested in user experience—someone who can balance business goals with user needs while mentoring other designers and contributing to our evolving design culture. Beyond execution, you’ll play a contributing role in elevating our design practice—mentoring designers, refining processes, and contributing to the evolution of our design system. Your influence will extend beyond individual projects, helping to shape the broader user experience strategy and fostering a strong design culture across the organization.

 

Essential Functions

  • Lead design strategy for complex, high-impact initiatives, driving user-centered decision-making.

  • Own the end-to-end design process, from research and concept development to execution and post-launch iteration.

  • Work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and Leadership to define product vision and roadmap priorities.

  • Participate in and synthesize user research, usability testing, and data analysis to inform and validate design decisions.

  • Shape and evolve our design system, ensuring consistency and efficiency across the product.

  • Prototype and experiment with new interactions and workflows to push innovation within the product.

  • Advocate for accessibility, usability, and scalability in all design decisions.

  • Mentor and support junior and mid-level designers, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.

  • Champion design within the company, advocating for design thinking, user needs, and a seamless user experience.

  • Present and communicate design solutions effectively to stakeholders, balancing strategic objectives with execution.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in product design, UX/UI design, or interaction design.

  • Strong leadership and strategic thinking abilities, with a proven track record of driving design impact.

  • Expertise in Figma, Sketch, or similar design tools, with a deep understanding of design systems and how to scale them.

  • Experience leading design initiatives and collaborating cross-functionally with PMs, Engineers, and other key stakeholders.

  • Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, with experience in qualitative and quantitative research.

  • Strong problem-solving and systems-thinking skills, with the ability to design for both high-level flows and intricate details.

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, able to advocate for design decisions and align teams on a vision.

  • A portfolio demonstrating impactful design solutions, strategic thinking, and a strong UX process.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Experience designing for enterprise or SaaS products.

  • Experience designing for AI interactions, be it chat or agentic AI.

  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML/CSS/React) to collaborate more effectively with engineers.

  • Experience building or evolving a design system at scale.

  • Background in service design, information architecture, or complex workflows.

Additional Information

Responsive uses a market-based compensation philosophy. A candidate’s starting base salary will be determined by the specific responsibilities of the role, as well as job-related skills, experience, qualifications, location, and current market trends. For this position, the base salary range is $110,000–$130,000. Our recruiting team will provide details on the applicable range based on your location during the hiring process. Please note that this range covers base salary only and does not include bonuses, equity, or benefits. 

 

Responsive embraces a global flexible workforce model with offices in Dallas, TX, Kansas City, MO, Coimbatore, India and Dublin, Ireland. For this role, candidates located in Dallas, TX will be given priority consideration.
