About the Role

Responsive is seeking a highly experienced, customer-centric Principal Consultant to lead enterprise-wide transformation programs that combine strategic response management, RFP/pursuit excellence, change leadership, and Responsive platform implementation.

This role is accountable for both strategic consulting and hands-on delivery of Responsive’s SaaS solution, serving as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders while owning end-to-end customer engagements from planning through rollout, go-live, and measurable value realization.

The ideal candidate blends experience in proposal strategy, pursuit enablement, growth transformation, and SaaS platform delivery with strong project management discipline and consultative leadership skills. They will drive faster time-to-value, stronger adoption, and measurable business outcomes from the Responsive platform

 

Essential Functions

Consultative Expertise & Platform Implementation

  • Advise enterprise clients on Strategic Response Management (SRM) best practices and guide them through the end-to-end
  • implementation of the Responsive platform to ensure strategic alignment and measurable business impact
  • Translate complex business requirements into deployment plans, workflows, and integrations that accelerate adoption, engagement, and sustained business value across the enterprise
  • Benchmark current response, pursuit, and content workflows to identify performance gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities across people, process, and technology
  • Develop strategic roadmaps and implementation blueprints that align SRM initiatives with broader sales enablement, bid management, and digital transformation goals
  • Oversee delivery of all platform artifacts and deliverables, ensuring alignment with quality, scope, and budget expectations
  • Partner cross-functionally to integrate Responsive with CRM systems, content repositories, and sales enablement platforms, creating a unified pursuit ecosystem
  • Deliver user enablement, training, and onboarding initiatives to accelerate adoption, enhance productivity, and maximize ROI

Strategic Response, Benchmarking & Pursuit Enablement

  • Partner with enterprise clients to design custom response frameworks, playbooks, and governance models that improve win rates, shorten bid cycles, and maximize ROI on RFPs, RFIs, and strategic bids
  • Conduct current-state assessments and benchmark pursuit operations against industry standards to identify best practices and measurable improvements
  • Establish and scale Response/Pursuit Centers of Excellence (CoEs) by developing service models, playbooks, knowledge libraries, and training programs that embed best practices and build sustainable capability
  • Collaborate with executive sponsors to define success metrics, performance dashboards, and continuous improvement frameworks that measure SRM maturity and drive long-term growth
  • Integrate pursuit enablement and growth strategies into enterprise transformation and revenue acceleration programs, ensuring alignment with sales, marketing, and operations functions.

Customer Engagement Leadership

  • Lead multiple concurrent strategic customer engagements, ensuring alignment with enterprise business priorities, transformation goals, and success outcomes
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, shaping strategic decisions and driving executive alignment on SRM value realization
  • Ensure engagement success through robust governance, proactive risk management, and executive communication

Qualifications

  • 12+ years in consulting, professional services, customer success, or strategic operations roles at a top-tier consulting firm, with direct experience serving enterprise or strategic accounts

  • Successful execution of digital transformation and change management for Enterprise customers, and/or Strategic Response Management (SRM) best practices

  • Proven track record of leading project teams that deliver complex SaaS platform implementations and transformation programs within large and complex organizations

  • Hands-on experience with RFP response strategy, proposal development, capture management, or pursuit enablement (is a nice to have)

  • Experience and familiarity with standard consulting practices: time tracking, risk management, utilization, timeline management, scope management, change orders, budget management, and managing expectations (including experience with a Professional Services Automation tool)

  • Strong background in project management (PMP, Agile, or equivalent) and change managemen

Additional Information

Responsive uses a market-based compensation philosophy. A candidate’s starting base salary will be determined by the specific responsibilities of the role, as well as job-related skills, experience, qualifications, location, and current market trends. For this position, the base salary range is $150,000-195,000. Our recruiting team will provide details on the applicable range based on your location during the hiring process. Please note that this range covers base salary only and does not include bonuses, equity, or benefits.
