About the Role

The Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing a team of two Procurement Specialists, the entire procurement process, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors. This role involves strategic planning, negotiation, and process improvement within the procurement department.

 

Essential Functions

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost and efficiency.

  • Manage vendor relationships and evaluate performance.

  • Monitor and analyze market trends to identify potential cost savings.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.

  • Lead and mentor the procurement team.

  • Prepare and present procurement reports to senior management.

Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Selection

  • Lead sourcing and negotiation for SaaS, professional services, and enterprise software solutions.

  • Develop category strategies to optimize licensing models, reduce spend, and improve vendor performance.

  • Conduct market research, pricing analysis, and benchmarking to ensure best-in-class solutions and cost efficiency.

  • Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs and align sourcing with strategic objectives.

Legal Review & Contracting

  • Partner with Security, and Compliance teams to review and negotiate commercial terms, data protection agreements, and SLAs.

  • Coordinate and track contract review workflows, ensuring timely approvals and risk mitigation.

  • Maintain centralized contract records and support audit readiness and policy compliance.

  • Collaborate with Legal Operations on CLM (Contract Lifecycle Management) processes and tool enhancements.

Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Process Management

  • Own the end-to-end P2P process from purchase request to payment.

  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, approval hierarchies, and budget controls.

  • Partner with Finance and Accounting to manage purchase orders, invoice reconciliation, and accruals.

  • Drive automation and system improvements to increase speed, visibility, and accuracy in procurement workflows.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong leadership skills 

  • Accomplished project lead on problem solving initiatives

  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficient in procurement software and tools.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Familiarity with CLM and procurement tools such as Ironclad, Conga, Coupa, Zip, Ariba, or NetSuite.

  • Strong analytical ability to interpret spend data, track savings, and optimize performance

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Procurement Manager or similar role, preferably in the SaaS industry 

  • Strong track record in negotiating software and services agreements, including SaaS, cloud, and professional services contracts.

  • Experience managing or improving procure-to-pay and vendor onboarding workflows.

  • Strong project management  skills (Six Sigma, Agile Methodologies; etc.)

  • Working knowledge of Salesforce ecosystem (Salesforce CPQ, CLM integrations, or Procurement tools).

  • Exposure to AI-powered procurement solutions (e.g., spend analytics, automated contract review, vendor risk scoring).

  • Demonstrated success implementing or enhancing P2P systems and processes.

Additional Information

Responsive uses a market-based compensation philosophy. A candidate’s starting base salary will be determined by the specific responsibilities of the role, as well as job-related skills, experience, qualifications, location, and current market trends. For this position, the base salary range is $115,000–$135,000. Our recruiting team will provide details on the applicable range based on your location during the hiring process. Please note that this range covers base salary only and does not include bonuses, equity, or benefits.
