About the Role
As a QE Lead, you will oversee the end-to-end quality assurance process, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products that meet customer requirements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide technical and strategic leadership to QE team members, and implement QE best practices and strategies. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a passion for quality, and the ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
Essential Functions
- Lead, mentor, and manage QE team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Define team goals, set priorities, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions and encourage skill development within the team.
- Develop and implement QE strategies, methodologies, and processes tailored to project requirements.
- Plan and manage testing activities, ensuring timely and thorough coverage across all test levels.
- Analyze project requirements to identify risks and create mitigation plans.
- Oversee the creation of detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for manual and automated testing.
- Ensure thorough testing of functional, non-functional, regression, and exploratory aspects of the product.
- Track and report quality metrics, test coverage, and defect trends to stakeholders.
- Drive test automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and coverage.
- Implement and maintain automation frameworks and tools for functional, API, and performance testing.
- Advocate for integrating test automation within CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with product owners, developers, and stakeholders to define quality goals and acceptance criteria.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, providing insights to ensure testability and quality standards are met.
- Communicate test progress, risks, and issues effectively to all levels of the organization.
- Oversee defect tracking and resolution processes, ensuring timely fixes and minimal production issues.
- Conduct root cause analyses to prevent recurring defects and improve QE practices.
- Continuously evaluate and improve QE processes, tools, and workflows to align with industry standards.
- Stay updated on emerging QE technologies and practices to incorporate them into the team’s processes.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a similar field.
Experience
- 8-12 Years of proven working experience and 2-3 Years of experience in leading the team in software development/quality assurance.
Knowledge, Ability & Skills
- Strong knowledge of QE methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools like Cypress, Karate, and performance tools like JMeter.
- Proficiency in API testing and backend validation using tools like Postman or similar.
- Experience in functional, regression, performance, security, and exploratory testing.
- Understanding of non-functional testing like scalability, reliability, and usability testing.
- Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Ability to prioritize and adapt quickly to dynamic requirements.
- Strong team management and mentoring skills to guide and develop QE members.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to identify and resolve complex issues, ensuring minimal impact on timelines and quality.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate risks and optimize testing strategies.
- A proven track record of collaborating across teams to meet project goals.
- Ability to mediate conflicts and maintain a healthy, productive team environment.
- Passion for staying updated with the latest QE trends, tools, and methodologies.
- Commitment to fostering a learning environment within the team.
- Working knowledge in SAAS products is an added advantage.
