About the Role

Responsive is looking for an Accounting Manager to join our accounting and finance team. This individual will supervise and oversee the monthly financial reporting cycle and support operational accounting. A successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented and driven to make an impact on the company’s operations. Reporting to the Controller and leading a team of Staff Accountants, the Accounting Manager should be comfortable adapting to changing circumstances and be capable of influencing and affecting change at the highest levels of the organization.

Essential Functions

  • Supervise and mentor the accounting staff
  • Responsible for month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and reporting.
  • Manage the preparation and filing of tax returns including  sales tax, income tax and other filings, ensuring the company’s compliance with applicable regulations. 
  • Drive process improvement and continued improvement of controls and applications
  • Implement and maintain internal controls.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process

Qualifications

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business/Economics (CPA a plus)
  • 5+ years of experience in public or corporate accounting with progressive responsibility.
  • 2+ in a supervisory or management position, overseeing accounting teams.
  • Prior experience managing the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Experience liaising with external auditors and facilitating the audit process.
  • Prior experience in Saas a plus. 

Knowledge and Skills

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Highly adaptable to ERP systems (experience with Netsuite ERP a plus)
  • Excellent prioritization and organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy

Additional Information

The compensation range for this role is $90,000-$125,000 On-Target Earnings (base + commission), depending on experience and location.
