About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Technical Writer Manager with a strong background in product documentation. This role combines leadership responsibilities with hands-on technical writing. The ideal candidate will manage and mentor a team of technical writers while also contributing to the creation and maintenance of high-quality product documentation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our documentation is clear, comprehensive, and user-friendly.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Exhibits proficiency in writing technical documents, User instructions and UI writing
  • Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
  • Collaborate directly with product managers, developers, and UX/UI designers to gather necessary information and ensure the accuracy of the content.
  • Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help and developer guides
  • Create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications
  • Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
  • Create and maintain the information architecture
  • Review and edit documentation produced by the team to ensure consistency in tone, style, and quality.
  • Lead and mentor the team of technical writers and planning & managing their daily work
  • Maintaining, organizing, improving, and updating the existing technical documentation
  • Establish and maintain style guides, templates, and best practices for technical documentation across the organization.
  • Conduct regular content audits to ensure that all documentation is up-to-date, accurate, and relevant.
  • Gather and analyze feedback from users and internal stakeholders to continuously improve documentation quality.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product, Support, and Marketing, to ensure alignment in documentation efforts.
  • Identify opportunities to improve documentation processes, tools, and workflows for increased efficiency and quality.
  • Drive the adoption of new technologies and practices that enhance the creation, management, and delivery of documentation.

Education

  • Any Bachelor Degree (Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred)

Experience

  • 8 to 13 years’ experience in a related role
  • Proven working experience in UX writing for SAAS product companies.
  • Experience in creating and managing API documentation.
  • Experience managing a team of Technical Writers

Knowledge, Ability & Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail for a global audience
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
  • Proven ability to create volumes of content needed to match strategic goals
  • Ability to quickly synthesize new technology and present it in a concise, meaningful manner
  • Adaptable and self-motivated
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to effectively multitask and work well under pressure
