About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to help build and operate highly reliable, scalable, and secure Responsive's cloud-native SaaS platform serving enterprise customers globally.
In this role, you will work across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, distributed systems, observability, application performance, and automation to ensure our platform meets high standards for availability, resilience, performance, and customer experience. You will partner closely with Engineering, DevOps, Security, and Product teams to proactively identify reliability risks and continuously improve the platform.
The role also provides an opportunity to leverage AI and automation to improve incident detection, troubleshooting, operational efficiency, and predictive reliability.
What You'll Do
- Own and improve the availability, reliability, scalability, and performance of production SaaS services.
- Define and monitor SLIs, SLOs, SLAs, and error budgets for critical services.
- Lead and support resolution of critical production incidents, including troubleshooting, mitigation, service recovery, and root cause analysis (RCA).
- Drive proactive identification and elimination of recurring incidents, reliability risks, and single points of failure.
- Design and improve observability using metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and actionable alerting.
- Troubleshoot complex distributed systems across Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, databases, networking, storage, and applications.
- Perform performance analysis, capacity planning, scalability assessments, and production health reviews.
- Design and implement resilient architectures, including high availability, disaster recovery, backup, failover, and business continuity capabilities.
- Build automation and self-healing solutions using Python, Bash, Terraform, and cloud-native technologies to reduce operational toil.
- Partner with Engineering teams to improve deployment reliability through health checks, graceful shutdown, rollback, and safe deployment practices.
- Participate in on-call and provide technical leadership during high-severity production events.
- Contribute to security, compliance, and operational readiness initiatives for enterprise customers.
- Leverage AI/LLM-based tools for anomaly detection, incident investigation, root-cause analysis, predictive capacity planning, and operational automation.
- Continuously evaluate and adopt technologies that improve reliability, scalability, and engineering productivity.
What You'll Bring
- 7+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong hands-on experience operating production-grade cloud-native and Kubernetes environments.
- Experience with one or more major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, networking, databases, and cloud architecture.
- Hands-on experience with observability platforms and technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK/OpenSearch, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of SRE practices, incident management, SLOs, error budgets, performance engineering, and capacity planning.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, or similar technologies.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform and modern CI/CD or GitOps practices.
- Experience troubleshooting complex production issues across application and infrastructure layers.
- Understanding of security, resilience, disaster recovery, and business continuity requirements for enterprise SaaS platforms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience with AI/ML, LLM APIs, AI-assisted operations, or intelligent observability is a strong plus.
