About the Role

REMOTE FROM DALLAS, TX OR PORTLAND, OR

Responsive is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented leader to join our team as the Director of Operational Efficiency. In this position, you will drive key initiatives, such as reducing inefficiency, designing workflows, and developing tools and processes for our revenue and back-office operations.
The director will lead transformational projects within Responsive using LEAN and Six Sigma Methodologies.  An effective leader in this role will assist leadership in deploying a fully sustainable lean management system, providing cross-functional coaching on techniques, and coordinating systems, tools, and process improvement efforts. This role aligns and collaborates with functional leaders to create and maintain standards across the company that drive continuous improvement.
Reporting to the SVP of Finance & Operations, with 4 direct reports, you will have an opportunity to have an immediate and meaningful impact on the company. To be successful in this role, you should be an innovative problem solver and have an entrepreneurial attitude.

Essential Functions

  • Lead all operational efficiency initiatives, supporting our worldwide markets
  • Lead a team consisting of three project coordinators and one documentation specialist.
  • Conduct analysis of our current operational workflows to identify inefficiencies and improve processes.
  • Drive company OKR process to ensure alignment on initiatives and accountability to results.
  • Influence workforce modeling to ensure teams can meet demand and support our internal and external customers 
  • Act as liaison between functional leaders and SVP Finance & Operations to support feature creation for internal operational tools.
  • Create and help implement routines and SOPS to standardize operations across our individual markets
  • Helps establish deployment activities with Leadership that build a continuous improvement environment. Assist in identification, prioritization, and selection of potential projects to optimize existing processes to align with company strategies.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain metrics to measure the success of initiatives.
  • Builds and develops coaching, facilitation and problem solving skills at the leadership level. Conducts training of tools such as 5-S, Problem Solving Methods, Standard Work, Visual Management, Leader Standard Work, Kaizen, etc.
  • Map out an ambitious, focused, doable plan for continuous, strategic process improvement with both short-term and long-term business goals in mind
  • Coaching and mentoring individuals throughout the organization on Lean principles.
  • Organize effective Kaizen events as needed on a corporate and functional level.
  • Develop the business case for proposed solutions, including identification of the need, research of the business benefits, the development of proposed solutions and impacts, and related analysis relative to the business solution, business need or platform.
  • Develop and direct project or program roadmaps and solution rollout strategy, across all business areas.
  • Provide opportunities for knowledge transfer through training and development of others in areas such as operational excellence and productivity improvement.

Knowledge & Skills

Requirements

  • Passionate about process improvement; Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years experience related to business process analysis, business analysis, project management, performance benchmarking, metrics, change management, operational transformation or strategic alignment
  • 3+ years of management experience, in Operations, Technology and large scale project management
  • Documented history of successful Lean implementations in corporate and plant levels.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification strongly desired
  • Ability to work independently while managing stakeholders remotely
  • Ability to push past face value of obstacles and explore solutions from stakeholder or system perspectives.
  • Strong organization, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to interact with senior management level internally and externally and challenge assumptions for the greater good of the organization.
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
  • Ability to navigate in an unstructured environment and create solutions.
  • Customer focused.
  • Great listening skills
  • A hands-on approach

Additional Information

Total compensation for this role (base plus bonus): $130,000-$180,000 depending on location and experience
