About the Role
The Legal team at Responsive is seeking a Technology Contracts Specialist to manage and support a range of commercial agreements—including B2B sales contracts, MSAs, NDAs, and subscription-based templates tied to Annual and Monthly Recurring Revenue (ARR/MRR). In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with Sales, the Deal Desk & Sales Operations, and Finance departments to drive compliance, streamline contract workflows, and accelerate deal velocity. This role requires excellent organizational abilities, a proactive mindset, and familiarity with the nuances of commercial contracting within the SaaS market.
Reporting to the Global Contracts Manager, this individual will be a detail-oriented, proactive self-starter with excellent organizational and cross-functional communication skills, independent worker with a sense of Teamwork. You’ll work across time zones and distributed teams to manage contract lifecycle processes, build scalable templates, and support contract-related inquiries across internal stakeholders. Experience with SaaS models and interest in AI-enabled tools is a strong plus.
Essential Functions
- Draft, review, and negotiate B2B commercial sales contracts, ensuring consistency with company policies and legal compliance
- Manage and oversee non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), service contracts, and vendor agreements, ensuring all terms align with business goals.
- Support subscription-based contracts tied to ARR/MRR models, with an understanding of legal implications and renewals.
- Create and maintain standardized contract templates, including sales agreements, partnership agreements, NDAs, and service contracts, to streamline operations.
- Assess contractual risk and understand key SaaS provisions, to interpret and redline customer paper agreements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure templates meet industry standards and comply with applicable regulations.
- Provide contractual and operational support to the sales team, enabling efficient deal closures and adherence to deal terms.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-related inquiries and stakeholder questions.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including colleagues in legal, sales, finance, and operations, to enhance contract efficiencies.
- Prepare reports on contract statuses, compliance issues, and revenue metrics related to ARR/MRR agreements.
- Contribute to broader legal team operations and support cross-functional initiatives as needed.
- Provide coverage during Eastern Standard Time.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Business, or related field (Paralegal certification or JD a plus).
- Minimum three to six years’ experience in contract management, preferably in B2B SaaS or technology industry.
- Strong live negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in contract creation, negotiation, and administration processes, detail-oriented with a strong analytical approach. Positive, can-do and ownership attitude.
- Works independently with a Teamwork mindset.
- Outstanding organizational skills, including the ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines.
- Experience with contract lifecycle management tools or tracking systems (e.g., Salesforce, Conga).
- Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office and familiarity with collaboration tools including Slack.
- Experience in fast-paced, customer-centric organizations with a focus on scalability and impact.
- Candidates should ideally be based in Dallas, Boston, Kansas or able to work EST hours if based in Seattle, Portland or Bay area. Unfortunately we are unable to provide visa sponsorship so this role is open to US Citizens and Permanent Residents only.
What We Offer
Responsive uses a market-based compensation philosophy. A candidate’s starting base salary will be determined by the specific responsibilities of the role, as well as job-related skills, experience, qualifications, location, and current market trends. For this position, the base salary range is $90,000–$100,000. Our recruiting team will provide details on the applicable range based on your location during the hiring process. Please note that this range covers base salary only and does not include bonuses or benefits.
Responsive embraces a global flexible workforce model but for this role, candidates located in Dallas, TX, Portland, Seattle, or Kansas will be given priority consideration (able to work EST hours).
